📋 Description

• Assess documentation content for hospital and professional services to accurately code principal diagnoses, secondary conditions, procedures, social determinant codes, and drug administration • Assign codes for multiple encounters or sessions across hospital and professional lines of business on the same date and place of service • Meet monthly production and quality requirements for procedures and surgeries assigned CPT codes • Apply code sequencing according to payer-specific rules • Analyze high-risk encounters for accurate charge capture and identify charge gaps before encounter completion • Incorporate payer-specific billing trends into daily reviews to reduce take backs • Facilitate clinical documentation modifications through concurrent interaction to support the level of service rendered • Code hospital and professional sessions as part of daily work • Retrieve order diagnosis, patient type, and related information from the hospital information system

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree preferred • Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology • One of the following: CCS, RHIT, RHIA; Preferred CRC • 3-5 years experience • Working knowledge of American Hospital Association guidelines, Current Procedural Terminology guidelines, payer-specific rules, and drug administration coding • Understanding and application of M.E.A.T. criteria using the ICD-10-CM transaction data set • Proficiency in surgical coding across three or more surgery-based product lines • Excellent working knowledge of hospital information systems and complex filing schemas • Ability to code hospital and professional sessions • Ability to comprehend medical record documentation and accurately assign codes across multiple specialties
