• Provide consulting services to Chemours global chemical businesses in non-metallic materials engineering and related technologies • Provide technical support to plant operations, capital projects, and research and development • Assist with materials selection for fiberglass, elastomers, graphite, glass, polymers, and liners • Support projects, mechanical integrity quality assurance (MIQA), equipment design and calculations, fabrication and repair, welding, failure analysis, equipment inspection, and condition assessment • Provide technical training and recommendations while adhering to Chemours Safety obsession • Lead materials-related aspects throughout project execution • Work with external vendors on design, fabrication, and repairs • Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to varied audiences • Prepare technical reports, assist with specifications, and review equipment during fabrication, installation, and operation • Network with company resources, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to develop economical and feasible solutions to time-sensitive business problems • Participate in applicable technical organizations such as ASME and MTI
• BS in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated background in non-metallic materials OR Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering with a heavy emphasis on engineering mechanics • 5-10 years of experience in Chemical Process or related Industries, involving multiple fabrication phases of a variety of non-metallic materials of construction and/or similar fields • Demonstrated experience with design, fabrication, and project process flow for newly fabricated non-metallic equipment or repair and replacement of existing non-metallic equipment • Demonstrated experience reviewing and generating equipment drawings and design sketches, equipment and project specifications, and maintaining internal standards aligned with industry standards • Willingness to participate in competency-related codes and organizations such as ASME or similar • Ability to work in a team environment with initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, sound judgment, and logic • Required travel of approximately 35% to plant sites, fabrication shops, and face-to-face interactions • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering with experience working on a Chemical Process site (preferred) • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and/or process issues (preferred) • Experience with RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis), specifically with non-metallic materials (preferred) • History of technical leadership for complex engineering projects (preferred) • Experience with relevant codes and standards such as ASME Section X, RTP-1, and ASTM F1545 (preferred) • Understanding of calculations related to flange design, strength, and sealing (preferred)
