CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange is a nonprofit organization (founded in 1947) that organizes and facilitates international educational and cultural exchange programs. It provides study abroad programs for college and high school students, gap-year and internship placements, TEFL certification and teaching abroad, professional and research exchange, Work & Travel and BridgeUSA programs, and host-family and employer partnerships. CIEE also administers scholarships and safety/onsite support services to help participants travel and study internationally while advancing intercultural understanding and global citizenship.

📋 Description

• Directly manage and coach managers responsible for Ambassador Programs and Lifecycle Sales initiatives • Establish departmental goals, priorities, performance expectations, annual plans, budgets, deliverables, and performance goals • Develop and execute strategies for ambassador engagement and alumni lifecycle conversion • Create long-term roadmaps to increase participation, referrals, customer retention, and repeat enrollment • Align ambassador programming, alumni engagement, lifecycle communications, and enrollment objectives • Pilot and scale engagement models, outreach strategies, and customer experiences • Provide strategic oversight of alumni lifecycle strategy and enrollment goals • Monitor lifecycle funnel performance, including engagement, lead generation, application activity, and enrollment outcomes • Establish conversion goals and KPIs tied to enrollment growth and participant retention • Oversee ambassador recruitment, engagement, training, performance management, and measurement • Establish KPI and reporting frameworks across engagement, referrals, conversion, enrollment, and revenue outcomes • Use data and market insights to guide strategic decisions and resource allocation • Ensure reporting, dashboard development, and performance review processes across teams • Collaborate with Marketing, Enrollment, Operations, and College Study Abroad Leadership • Lead cross-functional solutions and integrate scalable systems, processes, and communications • Provide strategic updates, recommendations, and performance reporting to the Executive Director and senior leadership • Contribute to planning, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational strategy • Represent CIEE at conferences, institutional partner meetings, and external events

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent required; master's degree preferred • 5-8+ years of experience in program management, enrollment management, marketing, sales, alumni engagement, customer success, or higher education outreach • 2-3+ years of experience leading and developing people and teams • Demonstrated success using data and analytics to drive business decisions and measurable outcomes • Proven ability to develop strategy while successfully leading operational execution • Exceptional project management, organizational, and leadership skills • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including executive-level communication • Experience collaborating across multiple departments in a complex organization • Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and project management platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Asana, and related tools • Knowledge of study abroad, higher education, student recruitment, alumni relations, or enrollment management preferred • Ability to embrace CIEE's Core Values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, and Problem Solving • Ability to travel as needed for partner engagement, conferences, and organizational events • Background check, reference check, and education and employment verification required as conditions of employment
