CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange is a nonprofit organization (founded in 1947) that organizes and facilitates international educational and cultural exchange programs. It provides study abroad programs for college and high school students, gap-year and internship placements, TEFL certification and teaching abroad, professional and research exchange, Work & Travel and BridgeUSA programs, and host-family and employer partnerships. CIEE also administers scholarships and safety/onsite support services to help participants travel and study internationally while advancing intercultural understanding and global citizenship.

📋 Description

• Grow student enrollment in CIEE's high school study abroad programs through sales outreach • Own the applicant journey from initial interest through confirmed participation • Build trust with students and families and help them select suitable programs • Showcase CIEE Global Navigator programs, including High School Summer Abroad, Custom School Trips, High School Semester Abroad, Gap Year Abroad, and First Year Abroad • Convey the value and outcomes of study abroad to U.S. high school students and legal guardians • Follow structured sales outreach via phone, text, and email • Make 20–60 calls per day depending on the time of year • Motivate and coach participants and families through scholarship and application processes • Help families overcome barriers to high school study abroad • Provide timely customer service throughout application, acceptance, confirmation, and pre-departure preparation • Host virtual student and parent webinars, including some evening hours • Present to students and parents in person at high schools and fairs in the territory, requiring domestic travel • Review applications, accept applicants, and convert them to paid participants • Ensure participant financial accounts are accurate and paid in full; follow up on discrepancies and missing payments • Use Salesforce reports to manage the applicant pipeline and meet sales goals • Maintain accurate customer communication records in Salesforce • Provide on-program participant support throughout the year • Participate in sales training and develop sales skills • Provide emergency support during 1–2 travel weekends per year • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent • Minimum of two years of customer service or sales experience • Ability to navigate challenging conversations • Excellent verbal and written communication • Ability to understand and tailor communication to different audiences • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Additional language skills beyond English are a plus • International travel or study abroad experience is a plus • Experience working with diverse high school students is a plus • Ability to work some evening hours • Ability to provide emergency support during 1–2 travel weekends per year • Background check, reference check, and education and employment verification as conditions of employment • Candidates must be located in Massachusetts; Boston Metro Area preferred
