• Provide store management with promotional recaps, business opportunities, results, trends, and competitive information • Manage controllable costs, including merchandise variation, salaries, overtime, cash, repair and maintenance costs, and other P&L expense lines • Collaborate with Marketing to implement promotions and new product introductions • Provide category managers feedback on stock issues and partner with vendors to ensure product availability • Ensure timely execution of monthly promotions and professional vendor performance • Enforce company policies, procedures, government regulations, and restricted sales policies • Maintain a safe and secure working environment through safety practices, communication, and training • Forecast financial requirements, prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions • Lead and direct Store Managers, including recruiting, selection, orientation, development, training, coaching, counseling, discipline, and performance appraisal • Establish job expectations and develop action plans for issue resolution • Apply non-discriminatory management practices when hiring, training, counseling, motivating, and separating employees • Prepare operational and risk reports for analysis • Accomplish Financial and Key Result Area targets according to Company Plan guidelines • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred • Other combinations of job-related experience and education may be substituted • 3–5 years of retail business experience or more preferred • Minimum of 2 years of management responsibility • Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred • Demonstrated leadership ability • Good communication skills • Self-directed, self-motivated, and customer service oriented • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English • Ability to supervise and train Store Managers in the use of store equipment, tools, and materials • Ability to supervise and manage functions listed in the Store Manager job description • Current valid driver’s license required to operate a company vehicle • Ability to sit for long periods, operate a computer keyboard and mouse, view a monitor, hear and speak via telephone, reach forward and/or overhead, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
