📋 Description

• Serve as Citi’s Republican West Region lobbyist within the U.S. Government Affairs team, with a primary focus on Texas • Advocate Citi’s public policy interests with government officials in a portfolio of Republican Western states • Identify, analyze, prioritize, and communicate policy issues and implications • Coordinate policy issues and advocacy with internal U.S. Government Affairs partners • Develop strategic engagement plans with the team lead • Lead plan execution by engaging portfolio government officials, trade associations, and consultants • Execute engagement and meeting plans involving senior Citi business leaders and government officials • Build and strengthen relationships with policymakers, focusing on Citi site locations in the region • Partner with U.S. Government Affairs colleagues to advance political and policy objectives • Manage Citi’s engagement in relevant trade associations and leverage consultants to advance lobbying goals • Provide political and policy insight to colleagues and internal business partners • Represent Citi in public forums, government meetings, third-party convenings, political gatherings, and conferences

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred • Minimum 7 years of experience in government relations or related field, including in government, a major corporation, trade association, or other business organization • Experience collaborating with teams of government affairs professionals preferred • Experience working on financial services public policy preferred • Strong existing relationships with government officials in Texas • Experience coordinating with coalitions of peers, external consultants and partners, including trade associations and political organizations • Ability to travel over 50% of the time between multiple jurisdictions • Strong understanding of how government actions impact business decisions • Significant knowledge of the intersection of U.S. state and federal political trends and their impact on financial services policy • Ability to translate political dynamics into effective government affairs engagement strategy • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior-level policymakers and business partners • Experience building, coordinating, and engaging colleagues and networks across geographies and functions • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate effectively in ambiguity, and deliver high-quality work with limited supervision • Ability to think strategically and tactically to achieve government affairs policy advocacy outcomes
