📋 Description

• Support medication management and patient care by identifying potential medication-related concerns • Communicate directly with patients and caregivers while performing pharmacy technical functions • Procure prescriptions and complete required documentation in the electronic medical record • Identify medication access problems and collaborate with patients and multidisciplinary teams to resolve them • Coordinate education, bedside medication delivery, and medication payment • Assist with developing and implementing medication procurement policies and procedures • Work with pharmacy leadership to identify opportunities to improve patient experience • Assist the manager with creating, implementing, and monitoring quality control programs • Conduct third-party prior authorization requests • Monitor program performance, patient volumes, and patient experience indicators • Identify and resolve discharge prescription coverage issues • Complete medication histories and other transitional care activities as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED • Minimum six months related pharmacy experience • Upon hire, registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required • Must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician is required within 6 months • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required within 18 months • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program preferred • Experience dealing with third party insurance and prior authorization process preferred • Ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds • Must follow required personal protective equipment procedures • Must comply with annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption • All offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances
