📋 Description

• Conduct premium audits, primarily for Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, including remote/hybrid audits and physical audits at customers’ premises when required • Establish classifications, premium basis and premium exposures according to company policy, ISO, NCCI and Independent Bureaus’ policies and regulations • Audit highly complex accounts, verifying policy classifications, exposure bases, subcontractor status and cost allocations • Interview insureds about operations and business models to analyze risks • Determine employee job classifications based on roles, responsibilities and hazard exposure • Compile and analyze operations and accounting records and visually inspect insured businesses • Communicate audit findings and insured financial conditions to agents and branch underwriting • Report questionable operations and suspected fraud to investigations and underwriting • Prioritize policy review and audit assignments • Train and guide less experienced audit staff • Monitor policy classification accuracy and premium basis development • Stay current on specialty-area and insurance-industry trends • May assist with operational audits • Report to a Manager or above

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance, or equivalent • Typically a minimum of five years of related work experience • Experience with ISO, NCCI & Independent Bureau States such as the California WCIRB is required • Solid knowledge of corporate auditing practices, procedures and principles • Solid knowledge of the insurance industry, organization and departmental functions and operations • Solid knowledge of statutory and other complex accounting principles, practices and procedures • Solid knowledge of General Liability, Workers Compensation and Business Auto Liability functions and procedures, including state and regulatory guidelines • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting systems and applications, and other business-related software systems • Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills • Solid analytical and problem solving skills • Solid interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills • Ability and willingness to travel • PAAS Certification a plus • Advanced degree or professional designations preferred
