📋 Description

• Develop and enhance automated test execution frameworks for firmware and system-level validation • Support automation for customer issue replication, debug workflows, and release qualification • Document FIRE, SRT, and EUI5 architecture, frameworks, APIs, workflows, troubleshooting procedures, and design decisions • Create software solutions that reduce manual effort, improve repeatability, and increase automation coverage • Assist with root-cause analysis of firmware and system-level issues by improving observability and debug tooling • Translate validation and customer issue requirements into software infrastructure and tooling solutions • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning • Support migration from manual or script-based workflows toward robust, platform-based automation • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate lab instruments and hardware platforms, and support hardware-software debugging • Help document and transfer critical system knowledge to full-time engineering teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field • Strong interest in embedded systems, firmware verification, automation infrastructure, and optical transceiver technologies • Experience developing software in one or more languages such as Python, C/C++, C# or similar • Experience with automation frameworks, test infrastructure, hardware/software integration, or embedded system validation • Strong understanding of software development practices, including version control, debugging, code reviews, and documentation • Strong Python programming language skills and Git version control • Knowledge of common buses and communication protocols, such as UART, I2C, and SPI • Familiarity with instrument and hardware control, including digital I/O, timers, ADCs, UARTs, and low power modes • Experience working at the hardware/software interface, including reading and writing registers and interpreting hardware specifications • Comfortable using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and similar equipment • Hands-on practical or lab experience with hardware • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively with other core team members for module development • Ability to follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
