• Preserve and improve the quality and validity of AP Chinese Language and Culture exams, course curriculum, and professional development content • Lead assessment development and scoring for AP Chinese Language and Culture • Author, revise, manage, and review formative and summative assessment content and scoring materials • Train educator contributors and reviewers and supervise Test Development Committee members • Recruit educators for development committees and other AP Program opportunities • Lead face-to-face, weekend, and virtual Test Development Committee meetings • Lead annual in-person and online AP Reading events and produce related publications • Integrate AI-assisted tools ethically into assessment creation and review • Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability • Collaborate with psychometricians to establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores • Refine the AP Chinese Language and Culture Framework and learning outcomes • Collaborate on new products, prototypes, market testing, and instructional resources • Support AP consultants and teachers with the Professional Learning team • Raise college and university awareness of AP Chinese Language and Culture courses and exams • Recruit college faculty for AP Reading and support AP Faculty Colloquia and Visiting and Virtual Fellows Programs • Present, speak, and moderate dialogue with academic and membership audiences as needed
• Master’s degree in Chinese Language or a directly related discipline (required) • Knowledge of current trends in Chinese Language or a directly related discipline • Native to near-native fluency in Chinese • At least 5 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work • Expertise in Chinese Language • Strong oral and written communication skills • Solid technical proficiency and customer-focused mindset • Excellent organizational and planning skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain close attention to detail, including proofreading • Ability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and schedules, and maintain tracking documentation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to work effectively across all levels and engage in constructive feedback • Ability to travel 6–8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading • Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Ability to make data-informed decisions and solve complex problems • Collaborative and empathetic approach
