📋 Description

• Preserve and improve the quality and validity of AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism exams, curriculum, and professional development content • Lead item development and management from authoring through administration • Train and collaborate with subject-matter experts, including college professors and secondary school teachers • Integrate AI technologies into assessment creation and review to support fairness, validity, and innovation • Train SMEs on assessment development protocols • Translate between academics and psychometricians • Develop formative assessment materials and resources for AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism teachers worldwide • Serve as a point of contact for committees and subject-matter expert communities • Support strategic growth of AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism globally • Present, speak, and moderate dialogue with academic and membership audiences as needed • Lead assessment development and scoring activities, including authoring, revising, reviewing, and managing assessment content • Develop assessment forms aligned with approved curricula and test specifications • Lead face-to-face, weekend, and virtual Test Development Committee meetings • Supervise and recruit Test Development Committee members and educators • Lead annual AP Reading scoring events in person and online • Produce AP Reading publications for teachers and students • Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability • Collaborate with psychometrics staff to establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores • Refine the AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism Course Framework • Support new product development, prototypes, and market testing • Engage with educators to improve teacher satisfaction • Support AP consultants and teachers with the AP Professional Learning team • Partner with the AP Higher Education team on college awareness, AP Reading recruitment, Faculty Colloquia, and Visiting and Virtual Fellows Programs

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in Physics or a directly related discipline (required) • Knowledge of current trends in Physics or a directly related discipline • Doctorate in the discipline strongly preferred • Expertise in Physics • At least 5 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work • Experience with digital assessment and teaching preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Solid technical proficiency • Customer-focused mindset • Excellent organizational and planning skills, including proofreading • Ability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and schedules, and maintain tracking documentation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to work effectively across all levels and engage in constructive feedback • Ability to travel 6-8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading • Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States • Willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-driven solutions • Ability to learn and apply new digital tools independently and proactively • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Ability to make data-informed decisions and solve complex problems • Collaborative and empathetic approach
