• Provide support and assist with projects addressing economic diversification, community revitalization, affordable housing, complete streets, brownfield redevelopment, and related community issues • Execute tasks and coordinate/manage projects under the direction of senior staff • Collaborate with external partners, cultivate relationships, and maintain effective communication • Facilitate calls with local teams, communicate project next steps, and take/distribute meeting notes • Create community plans synthesizing community input, analysis, and strategies through writing and visualizations • Lead elements of larger community assistance projects • Design graphic communications tools including posters, presentations, and infographics • Design and carry out community engagement strategies and summarize public engagement findings • Research topics and provide clear summaries and infographics • Facilitate community leader training sessions • Plan and execute community design charrettes • Plan logistics for in-person site visits • Develop conceptual site plans for proposed brownfields redevelopment sites • Guide community teams through affordable housing toolkits
• Minimum of 1-2 years of on-the-job experience working as a team member on complex community projects or initiatives • Foundation in community planning fields such as urban planning and design, community outreach, economic development, housing, or a related area • Demonstrated experience or skills in one or more of: urban design, policy analysis, community engagement, graphic design, writing, research, or land use law • Some experience in community outreach and engagement • Strong analytical skills in community planning and policy disciplines • Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation communication skills • Solid skills/experience in standard graphic design platforms such as Adobe Suite • Solid skills and experience collecting and analyzing data • Basic understanding of local government procedures and processes • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent time, task, and project management skills • Passion for the communities served and the work performed • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team with highly skilled professionals • Strong work ethic and desire to grow personally and professionally • Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred • Must be based in Colorado • Applications must include a cover letter and answers to additional questions • Preferred, but not required: a master’s degree in a related field
