Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to support successful completion of instructional programs • Support the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction • Complete grading and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner • Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules • Provide feedback on student work and suggest instructional approaches and strategies • Monitor assignment completion and coach special projects • Develop general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned grades • Support students and parents with alternate strategies and additional assistance for assignments and projects • Maintain current student records and data, including family information, attendance, and contact logs • Collaborate with team members and staff learning specialists on enrichment activities and program modifications • Develop and maintain a virtual school community • Proctor benchmark and diagnostic tests • Participate in State Testing administration as directed • Attend field trips and other community activities for families • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Certified Kansas teacher highly qualified to teach grades 9-12 • Any 9-12 Social Studies endorsements or licensing • Applicants with a current teaching license from another state may be considered if they can transfer or obtain a Kansas teaching license upon hire • Preferred licensure areas include media design, communications, family and consumer science, home economics, technology, and related STEM/CTE fields • Strong technology skills, especially Microsoft Office products and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Student- and family-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Track record as a team player • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and diverse community members • Ability to work remotely while traveling occasionally for in-person meetings and testing • Must use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication
