📋 Description

• Own Data Engineering, Solution Data Architecture, and Data Science • Deliver Convera's enterprise data platform while maintaining continuity of existing operational and regulatory workloads • Modernize the enterprise data estate by migrating legacy reporting platforms, including DataHub and ODS, to the Convera Enterprise Data Platform • Consolidate Convera's data into one governed platform for reporting, analytics, and AI enablement • Lead phased migration from legacy reporting platforms while maintaining uninterrupted business and regulatory operations • Take over an in-flight program and deliver its communicated milestones • Keep the operational data store stable and feeding transactional systems, and decide its future • Partner with Enterprise Architecture on data standards, canonical models, reference architecture, information models, and technology strategy • Build scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, including streaming pipelines, reconciliation to source, monitoring, and recovery • Set direction for analytical and machine learning work affecting pricing and margin, risk, and client behavior • Partner with Risk and Compliance on model governance • Own data governance, quality, stewardship, definitions, lineage, ownership, and quality standards • Protect data through secure storage, encryption, masking and tokenization, access control, and retention across jurisdictions • Represent and explain the data estate to regulators, examiners, and auditors • Provide governed, documented, well-modeled data to reporting and dashboard teams • Build and maintain a searchable data catalog • Architect toward future data products and democratized external data APIs • Assess talent and technology, reshape the team as needed, and establish an operating cadence • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Compliance to align data priorities with enterprise outcomes • Deliver first-year outcomes including priority-domain migration, source reconciliation, ODS stability and future-state decision, trusted definitions and quality, audit readiness, and data readiness for AI

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years in data • 8+ years in management • Experience in the senior-most data role (VP Data, Head of Data, or CDO) at a fintech, payments, or regulated financial services company • Delivered a consolidated data platform end to end, from a fragmented legacy estate to a single governed store • Modern cloud data warehouse experience (Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable) required • Deep data engineering experience with large-scale ETL and ELT, pipeline reliability, reconciliation, and performance • Practical data governance experience covering lineage, definitions, stewardship, and quality • Deep data privacy and secure data handling experience, including encryption, masking and tokenization, access control, and retention obligations across multiple jurisdictions • Direct experience with regulators, examiners, and auditors • Leadership spanning data engineering, architecture, and data science • Production machine learning experience serving real business decisions • Hands-on experience preparing data for ML, including labeling, feature engineering, and creating training-ready assets at scale • Transformation experience taking over an existing organization, assessing talent and technology, and building an accountable team • Bachelor's degree required • Cross-border payments, FX, or treasury data experience a plus • PE-backed environment experience a plus
