📋 Description

• Maintain proactive communication with management regarding purchasing and inventory decisions • Generate performance reports for underperforming product lines and initiate resolution plans • Evaluate daily purchasing reports and prioritize purchase orders by critical need • Obtain vendor confirmations, verify pricing and quantities, correct vendor issues, attach confirmations to POs, and manage confirmation records • Perform purchase transactions for assigned categories • Work the Back Order Queue and Expedite Queue and keep ship dates accurate • Coordinate with vendors for updated shipment information • Analyze and correct price discrepancies with accounting business partners • Leverage management input to achieve target freight levels and maximize profit margins • Evaluate and manage dead stock, no-calc, and aged inventory • Manage inventory and fill rates for assigned categories • Negotiate vendor prices and seek products/vendors for best pricing • Handle some commodity purchasing under the general direction of the Purchasing leader • Provide general guidance or training to junior support or professional personnel as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline • Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field • Certification is required in some areas • Broad-based procurement and inventory experience • Product experience • Must be able to travel overnight less than 10% of the time
