📋 Description

• Supervise Workers’ Compensation claims staff in day-to-day operations • Assist the Claims Manager with recruitment, interviewing and onboarding • Ensure staff proficiency in procedures and job functions • Ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and mandated regulatory reporting requirements • Improve team performance through training, coaching and performance evaluations • Recommend merit-based actions, subject to managerial approval • Provide technical and jurisdictional guidance on compensability, investigations, litigation issues and service account instructions • Liaise with clients and employees on claim-specific, procedural and special requests • Recommend and execute final resolutions • Participate in customer claim reviews and presentations • Support claims department and company goals • Maintain regular and consistent attendance • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience • Minimum of 5 years’ claims handling experience • Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation claims must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel • State Certification or license as an experienced claims adjuster • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation required • Demonstrated public speaking skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Effective quantitative, analytical and interpretive skills • Strong leadership, management and motivational skills • Demonstrated strong customer service skills • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Knowledge of claims administration, case management and cost containment solutions applicable to Workers’ Compensation • Ability to travel overnight and attend meetings if required
