• Direct and implement strategic efforts across Risk Adjustment coding operations • Ensure training, production, and quality/audit plans meet client timelines • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies • Coordinate with executive and operational departments on client contracts and service-level agreements • Analyze quality reports, metrics, and SLAs to identify trends and process-improvement opportunities • Design and implement process redesigns • Oversee onshore and offshore coding production, coding accuracy, staff management, and vendor performance • Monitor productivity and address client-team performance concerns • Review and communicate internal system reports across production and quality accuracy • Participate in production meetings and develop coding and quality production plans, including targeted audits • Communicate production plans and project priorities to managers for client-product onboarding and scheduling • Analyze coding accuracy trends and implement auditing, mentoring, and focused training activities • Collaborate with IT, Data Operations, Data Analytics, Training, and Human Resources to resolve production issues • Attend client meetings with Client Services regarding production and quality • Communicate coding-standard noncompliance findings and facilitate department communications to senior leadership and managers • Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain talent • Complete performance-plan responsibilities and assigned special projects
• Required coding certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H, nationally certified by AAPC or AHIMA • CRC certification is a plus • BS degree preferred • 10+ years of medical coding or record abstraction experience may substitute for the preferred BS degree • 10+ years of HCC or Risk Adjustment experience • 5+ years managing coding production and quality/audit staff • 3+ years in a leadership role with formal direct reports • 5+ years in a client-facing role • Deep understanding of client business needs, challenges, and industry trends • Ability to translate client needs into concrete initiatives and business cases • Ability to establish, monitor, and enforce staffing and production schedules • Ability to use data to identify production and quality trends and develop corrective plans • Coding subject-matter expertise for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Risk Adjustment coding guidelines • Excellent written, communication, coaching, interpersonal, and client-interaction skills • Analytical and critical-thinking skills • High proficiency in computer applications and technology, including advanced Excel skills • Ability to manage multiple client deliverables and competing deadlines • Awareness of and adherence to HIPAA privacy and security regulations • Flexibility to participate in an international organization’s work processes and global-time-zone conference calls • Minimal travel required • After-hours or weekend work may be required for major deliverables or deadlines • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation • Must provide a dedicated, secure work area • Must provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
