📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end design process for Men’s Apparel from concept and sketching through final design, development, and tech pack delivery • Develop consumer-driven product concepts balancing performance, style, functionality, sustainability, and brand personality • Translate consumer insights, trends, cultural influences, materials, and emerging technologies into product concepts and seasonal narratives • Build seasonal design platforms including mood boards, color and material direction, fabric intent, trims, construction details, and visual storytelling tools • Lead Men’s Apparel design concepts and contribute to broader seasonal brand design direction • Create cohesive collections across categories, products, and seasons • Champion material, trim, construction, and product innovation • Partner with Merchandising and PLM to translate line plans into a cohesive design vision • Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and other partners through final delivery • Present design concepts, seasonal direction, and product stories to creative and cross-functional audiences • Curate and maintain design lookbooks, presentations, and visual merchandising tools • Support the Design Director and broader design team in evolving Cotopaxi’s creative vision • Manage multiple projects, priorities, milestones, and deadlines • Identify opportunities to improve design processes, product quality, creativity, and innovation • Consider responsible materials, construction, longevity, and product impact throughout the design process • Stay current on apparel, textile, technology, and consumer trends • Travel domestically and internationally as needed for design, product development, and team collaboration

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience designing apparel, accessories, or related soft goods, with significant men’s apparel experience • Performance, activewear, outdoor, or outerwear experience strongly preferred • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience • Strong creative vision and refined understanding of proportion, color, materials, construction, and product aesthetic • Ability to translate consumer insights, market trends, and creative inspiration into commercially relevant product concepts and cohesive seasonal collections • Strong presentation and storytelling skills • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop • Experience with 3D design or modeling tools is a plus • Strong understanding of apparel design and development from concept through final production • Knowledge of fit, sewn and non-sewn construction, manufacturing processes, materials, textiles, and garment technologies • Knowledge of material, trim, construction, and manufacturing innovation • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and PLM • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to collaborate across cultures, functions, and geographic locations • Ability to work independently in a collaborative, feedback-driven team • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment and travel domestically and internationally as needed • Passion for Cotopaxi’s mission and responsible design • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
