📋 Description

• Provide high-level financial strategy and advisory support for proactive business decisions • Build budgeting and forecasting processes suited to a contingency-fee law firm with variable monthly revenue • Help leadership understand operating needs, payroll stability, cash-flow timing, and the impact of case wins or losses • Translate financial data into clear executive-level reports for the firm owner and Office Administrator/Bookkeeper • Analyze expenses, profit margins, spending patterns, and efficiency opportunities • Support scenario planning around revenue variability, case outcomes, tax considerations, and future financial needs • Coordinate with the external CPA firm on tax-planning opportunities • Create dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks • Review Litify, Accounting Seed, Excel, and existing reporting processes and recommend improvements • Work directly with the firm owner and Office Administrator/Bookkeeper as part of the financial leadership structure

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience as a Fractional CFO or senior finance leader advising business owners, ideally small to medium size law firms • Strong preference for experience with plaintiff-side contingency-fee law firms or professional services businesses with variable revenue • Strong background in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow modeling, profitability analysis, and executive reporting • Ability to explain financial information clearly, translate data into recommendations, and support proactive leadership decisions • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and trustworthiness • Comfortable working with clean financial data and turning it into practical business insight • Experience with Excel and financial reporting tools required • Familiarity with Litify and Accounting Seed strongly preferred but not required • Strategic advisory orientation rather than transactional bookkeeping or routine accounting • Comfortable with a true fractional engagement of approximately 10–15 hours per month, with potentially more involvement during onboarding
