📋 Description

• Provide legal guidance on compliance risks and issues supporting mortgage origination compliance and operations • Provide legal and compliance support for regulatory examination findings, regulatory or consumer complaints, and stakeholder or counterparty inquiries • Conduct system-level research to support response preparation • Assist with solutions for regulatory findings from examination, testing, and monitoring, including root-cause analysis and remediation • Provide legal guidance on post-close suspense items to support timely clearing of conditions and investor delivery timelines • Support defects causing critical loan salability issues and coordinate corrective actions cross-functionally • Provide compliance legal support for technology used in originations, including the LOS, point-of-sale system, and proprietary technology solutions • Draft policies and procedures addressing federal and state regulatory requirements • Serve as a resource for compliance support escalations with timely legal analysis and practical regulatory guidance • Prepare legal research, memoranda, and recommendations for senior counsel and leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mortgage lending compliance • Knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending regulations, including Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, QM/ATR, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, HMDA, UDAAP, and SAFE Act • Experience supporting compliance programs in the mortgage lending industry • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Effective communication and collaboration skills • High level of integrity and ethical conduct
