📋 Description

• Serve as Global Procurement’s technical subject matter expert on procurement contracting • Lead development, review, and negotiation of complex, high-value, high-risk, and strategic procurement contracts • Partner with requestors, procurement teams, and technical stakeholders to develop scopes of work, deliverables, performance standards, and contractual requirements • Advise on contract structures, risk allocation, service levels, warranties, insurance, indemnities, liability, intellectual property, data protection, remedies, and termination rights • Support complex procurement activities through review of solicitation documents, evaluation requirements, negotiation strategies, award documentation, contract modifications, and dispute resolution • Serve as technical escalation point for complex contractual concerns and coordinate with the Office of General Counsel • Ensure contracts align with CRS policies, procedures, donor requirements, applicable law, and organizational approvals • Work with OGC, GRC, Finance, Safeguarding, GKIM, and other functions on legal, compliance, and risk considerations • Monitor changes in donor, regulatory, and organizational requirements • Develop and improve contracting templates, clause libraries, playbooks, decision tools, and review guidance • Analyze contractual risks, disputes, exceptions, audit findings, and implementation challenges to identify systemic improvements • Deliver training, guidance, coaching, and practical tools on contract development, negotiation, risk management, and contract administration • Build contracting capability among procurement staff, program teams, budget holders, and stakeholders • Promote understanding of contractual obligations, accountability, and contract management practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, International Development, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, commercial contracting, procurement contracting, legal advisory support, supply chain management, or a related field • Experience working cross-functionally with legal counsel, risk and compliance functions, technical experts, and operational stakeholders • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, administering, and closing out complex, high-value, or high-risk contracts for goods and services • Ability to identify, explain, and mitigate complex contractual and compliance risks • Ability to interpret donor, regulatory, policy, and contractual requirements and translate them into practical guidance and contract provisions • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement • Strong facilitation, consultation, and stakeholder management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to influence without direct authority and serve as a technical advisor • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other platforms • Fluent written and spoken English • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% • Ability to legally work where the position is performed • Must sign and adhere to CRS’ Code of Conduct
