📋 Description

• Report to a Director, Field Engineering • Lead a team of Solutions Architects for Databricks’ Startups segment • Lead and promote a diverse technical sales team focused on enterprise software, big data and analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing, and generative AI • Partner with Sales and other Field Engineering technical segments to increase revenue and help customers succeed with Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform • Scale and maintain an efficient, high-performing Field Engineering team to accelerate Databricks’ market growth • Hire, train, and grow a team of Solutions Architects • Drive customer success and provide outsized business value • Maintain a robust pipeline of highly qualified candidates • Establish relationships across the business to support customer and team success • Ensure Solutions Architects maintain advanced knowledge of the Databricks technology stack • Ensure the team continuously learns and provides comprehensive customer solutions • Foster collaboration among Field Engineering, Sales, and other internal cross-functional teams

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring • 10+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, machine learning, or generative AI • Trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions • Experience leading technical qualification, technical validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations • Experience establishing external partnerships with systems integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) • Strong understanding of consumption-driven business models and long-term growth strategies • Experience hiring, ramping, and promoting high-performing candidates • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success • Technical depth sufficient to earn the trust of Engineering talent and leadership • Ability to influence and review complex architectures and guide teams and customers toward scalable solutions
