📋 Description

• Perform telephone triage under demanding, stressful, and repetitious conditions • Collect patient/caller data and make assessments • Develop working diagnoses and determine interventions and disposition according to guidelines • Instruct patients/callers on evaluating symptoms, treatment effectiveness, and when to call back • Document symptoms, complaints, nursing assessments, advice, and patient/caller responses • Perform initial assessments for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients • Differentiate normal from abnormal findings and identify potential problems • Provide patient/caller education and assess learning needs • Assess for signs of abuse and make appropriate referrals • Review medications, drug dosages, allergies, and immunization status • Monitor call-queue safety as assigned team leader and act as liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary issues • Serve as a resource for staff and provide feedback to supervisors • Select appropriate guidelines and dispositions, using nursing judgment to adjust dispositions when needed • Perform quality improvement, documentation, and audio audits • Integrate audit findings and new knowledge into practice • Identify process and operational improvements and collect supporting data

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's Degree Required • Two years of recent nursing experience Required • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required • RN-Registered Nurse license from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required • Provides age appropriate triage and treatment dispositions to all callers from newborn to Adult, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting • Utilizes computer software and associated programs to triage and send reports to appropriate agencies or clinics • Uses nursing judgment as an adjunct to the computer Software Program to reach appropriate dispositions and care advice • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations • Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment • Ability to use computers and computer systems • Computer skills required • Bilingual skills preferred
