📋 Description

• Maintain all aspects of customers’ wind turbines, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and civil systems • Maintain a high level of safety awareness • Climb turbine towers at heights of 300 ft. and greater several times daily • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic turbine faults • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, perform corrective actions, or open manufacturer service cases • Perform energy isolation according to Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures • Perform pad-mounted transformer switching according to Hazardous Energy Controls Procedures • Perform small and large corrective tasks on wind turbines • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, performance monitoring, and evaluation • Maintain turbines safely, with high quality and efficiency • Maintain EH&S documentation and complete work orders, timesheets, tool and PPE inventories, and other paperwork in Maximo

🎯 Requirements

• High School/GED required • Wind Technician I candidates must complete Level I job performance measures and Deriva Energy renewables academy training within 1 year • Wind Technician II external candidates require 3+ years of related work experience • Wind Technician II external candidates must pass Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period • Wind Technician II internal candidates require 1+ year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician • Internal candidates must have completed Turbine Technician-1 and Electrical Operator-1 JPMs • Valid Driver’s License required • Ability to climb and work on turbine towers up to 300 ft. daily • Ability to lift 75 lbs. individually • Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow • Ability to operate forklifts and commercial motor vehicles • Completion of OEM or third-party technical specialty training program • Must pass a background check and drug test prior to start date • Safe Working Weight Requirement: maximum 265 pounds • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
