📋 Description

• Represent the company’s technical position in internet standards working groups the CTO cannot attend • Track adjacent drafts and mailing-list traffic, flagging important developments • Revise specifications and respond to review comments • Build supporting material to advance drafts through standards processes • Build reference implementations, interoperability tests, and demos • Establish durable technical credibility with standards-community participants • Take authorship of secondary drafts as standing is earned • Attend sessions for the CTO and prepare read-outs • Provide substantive, timely responses to draft review comments • Develop working implementations supporting specification claims • Actively model and promote Identity Digital’s core values • Perform other duties as assigned • Report to the CTO, Innovation Labs

🎯 Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on protocol or infrastructure engineering • Existing participation in a standards community, working group, or major open source project is a strong signal • Working knowledge of identity infrastructure, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, PKI, DNS, Verifiable Credentials, or similar protocols • Demonstrated ability to write clearly under scrutiny • Composure to hold a technical position among more senior participants and judgment to know when to concede • Comfort moving between engineers, open source communities, and enterprise or government technical audiences • Comfort operating as a delegate and faithfully representing another person’s technical position • Bias toward sustained, multi-year contribution • Ability to travel as needed • Ability to work across time zones as part of a global organization as needed • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times • Must complete a satisfactory background check as a condition of an offer • Work sponsorship may not be available now or in the future
