📋 Description

• Assess current Oracle database environments and identify migration considerations, risks, and dependencies • Develop migration strategies, roadmaps, and implementation plans • Execute schema conversion, PL/SQL object conversion, data migration, validation, and cutover support • Collaborate with application teams to identify and remediate database-related issues, including JDBC/ODBC connectivity changes • Analyze and optimize database performance before, during, and after migration • Support functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing • Document migration procedures, technical designs, and operational processes • Provide recommendations for database modernization and operational improvements • Participate in technical discussions with customers and project stakeholders • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues throughout the migration lifecycle

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience with Oracle Database administration and/or development • Experience leading or supporting Oracle-to-non-Oracle database migrations • Hands-on experience with Ora2Pg or a comparable Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration toolset, including Change Data Capture (CDC)-based migration for minimal-downtime cutover • Ability to manually convert Oracle PL/SQL objects to PostgreSQL/PL-pgSQL equivalents • Knowledge of database migration methodologies, tools, and best practices • Experience with database assessment, planning, testing, and cutover activities • Strong SQL and database performance tuning skills • Experience provisioning and configuring cloud-hosted relational databases such as AWS RDS • Ability to analyze complex technical environments and develop migration recommendations • Experience troubleshooting database and application integration issues • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant database experience; 11+ years without a Bachelor's degree • Demonstrated experience supporting at least one Oracle database migration project • U.S. Citizenship required • Public Trust clearance requirement
