• Assist with Major Component Repair (MCR) specialized services • Assist the Drivetrain Specialist with crane calling and rigging procedures and qualifications • Perform large corrective repairs and removal and replacement of major components, sometimes independently • Oversee the safe operation of EDF power solutions and contractor employees during major-component removal and replacement and in-situ repairs • Acquire and maintain specialized skills for major-component replacement, in-situ repairs, and tooling and fixture development • Travel to other sites to support MCR work • Assist with developing, writing, and training work procedures and control instructions for heavy-lift operations • Assist with quality control during major-component removal and replacement and large corrective in-situ repairs • Deliver high-quality workmanship to improve safety, performance, and efficiency • Follow fiscal constraints, company policies, safety procedures, and quality procedures • Work independently while generally collaborating with other MCR technicians
• Advanced Wind Technician qualification or minimum 1 year of wind energy or industrial maintenance experience • High school diploma or equivalent; or up to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Successfully complete the applicable safety and technical training program for Advanced Wind Technician • Basic computer knowledge • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to comply with EDF power solutions' Safety & Quality policies, procedures, and work instructions • Basic functional knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint • Ability to read and comprehend schematic drawings • Ability to work at heights, including climbing and descending towers of various heights • Ability to work with and provide hands-on training to other technicians • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold, rain, and wind • Mechanical, electrical, and controls aptitude • Current driver's license and clean driving record to operate company service vehicles on site and public roads • Ability to accommodate air and ground travel • Ability to work nights and abnormal working hours from time to time
