📋 Description

• Execute commissioning and testing of protection & control schemes and systems for customers’ electric utility substations and plant locations • Test and interface with IEDs, SCADA systems, communications media, RTUs, DFRs, IEC-61850 systems, and multifunction devices • Red-line design documents across Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List drawings • Perform end-to-end testing • Perform manual and automated IED testing using Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta, and similar test sets • Identify risks associated with testing and commissioning protection and control schemes and systems • Develop test plans, risk assessments, and practical applications of protection and control systems • Analyze scope and drawing interpretations to create functional guidelines and risk assessments • Lead people and tasks within larger projects, or provide technical and people leadership on defined-scope projects • Perform weekly site safety inspections • Lead the application of HP with Project Lead approval • Support company and customer policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associates/AET degree • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations • Experience handling a simple volt-ohm-meter and working with hand tools • Experience reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary, and Wiring diagrams • Proficient computer, computer network, and Android/iPhone app skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, mapping drive letters for server connections, and connecting handheld apps to cloud or other locations • Ability to perform regular field work in various work environments, conditions, and weather • Ability to read company manuals and reports and workplace rules and procedures • Ability to speak with poise and confidence, using correct English • Valid driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing, due to safety-related materials, documentation, and client interactions
