📋 Description

• Identify structural gaps, clichés, and weak reflections in Common App Personal Statements and University of California PIQs • Help students develop authentic voices and deeper “show, don’t tell” moments • Edit 25+ essays per day during peak season • Record an approximately 2-minute personalized Loom video for every edited essay • Explain the reasoning behind edits with empathy and authority • Manage a queue of 27–32 essays per day during peak season • Make quick, high-quality submission-readiness decisions • Facilitate weekly Zoom workshops and 1:1 sessions during 6-Week Intensives • Guide students through brainstorming and drafting in real time • Potentially advance into Student Success Coach roles based on student outcomes and mission alignment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferred: English, Writing, Communications, Education, Humanities) • 2+ years of admissions editing experience • Knowledge of UC PIQs and Common App essays • Expertise in narrative arcs, “show don’t tell,” and voice • Ability to identify clichéd, weak, robotic, or ChatGPT-written essays • Comfortable recording 20+ short videos per day • Ability to edit a 650-word essay in 20 minutes without sacrificing quality • Fluent in Google Docs (Suggesting Mode), Zoom, and Loom • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:00pm PST • Comfortable facilitating Zoom workshops and 1:1 student sessions • Resume, completed questionnaire, and 2-minute video submission required
