📋 Description

• Lead and manage the performance of a team of Medical Science Liaisons • Provide national field strategic leadership and leverage MSL scientific and clinical expertise • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners in the therapeutic area • Set team vision and expectations, coach performance, and develop team members • Recruit, hire, develop, and promote talent • Conduct field visits and provide scientific and MSL role-specific coaching and feedback • Contribute to succession planning and talent development • Enable the Field Medical Qualification process • Partner with internal medical, development, and commercial partners • Develop and implement regional field medical strategies aligned with business unit and medical affairs strategies • Develop field medical business plans and participate in business planning • Align MSL activities with clinical and scientific objectives and support evidence generation efforts • Support medical affairs staffing at congresses and communicate clinical insights to Lilly • Oversee MSL congress activities, including strategy, stakeholder coordination, messaging, abstract submissions, and symposium planning • Oversee team quality, compliance, accountability, and effectiveness • Drive operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance with business, legal, ethics, and medical affairs partners • Ensure policy, law, regulation, guideline, and documentation compliance • Analyze MSL activity data to improve performance • Manage team finance and HR issues • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience • Minimum 5 years of industry, clinical and/or medical experience • Authorized to work full-time in the United States • No employer support or sponsorship for work authorization or visas • Up to 50–75% travel required • Residence in the central region of the United States • Experience with scientific or field medical strategy preferred • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, operational execution, and learning agility • Ability to provide feedback on technical communications and documentation • Demonstrated leadership and ability to achieve results through people • Experience motivating, coaching, and developing technical personnel • Ability to partner and influence across business units, functions, and leadership levels • Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and networking skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new learning • Decision-making and problem-solving ability
