📋 Description

• Own product direction for tools that scale Lilly’s expertise for early-stage biotech companies • Learn how biotech users work and identify workflow bottlenecks • Run discovery through interviews, prototypes, and working sessions • Prioritize problems and define the order of work • Produce buildable product direction from discovery • Own strategy, scope, roadmap, launch, and post-launch operations end to end • Write strategy, specifications, and analysis hands-on • Communicate decisions clearly to engineering, leadership, and end users • Define initial release scope and success metrics • Ensure product instrumentation supports measuring outcomes • Mentor product managers and product-adjacent peers • Partner with engineering and design on hiring and team standards • Establish discovery, specification, and decision-making practices • Negotiate scope and challenge estimates and priorities with engineering and design • Navigate enterprise infrastructure, security, privacy, and compliance requirements • Incorporate Lilly R&D expertise into the product • Represent the product with technical and scientific end users

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • 8+ years of product management experience • Track record of shipping software that end users rely on • Experience operating as a senior or staff product manager on a small team • Experience taking a product from zero to one • Ability to take a fuzzy problem from research to scope to shipped product • Experience conducting customer interviews and roadmap reviews • SQL or similar data skills sufficient to define a metric or size a market • Familiarity with AI/ML and model capabilities and limitations • Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features, including reliability, evaluations, and context management • Ability to engage with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs • Experience working in small, undefined-roadmap environments • Self-sufficient and broad ownership mindset • Experience in life sciences, pharma, biotech, or health tech, especially building for scientists or R&D teams • Background building B2B SaaS or platform products • Experience shipping into regulated environments and familiarity with data governance and timelines
