• Prepare and oversee customer, site, and vendor contracts • Lead pricing, planning, execution, and control of investigator grants • Develop and lead contract and budget negotiation strategies • Identify and mitigate contract risks, escalating complex issues to management or legal • Draft, review, and independently negotiate master governing agreements • Analyze contractual information to support budget and contract negotiations • Develop and review Clinical Trial Agreements using standard templates and related project information • Coordinate with legal departments regarding CTA content changes • Participate in study kick-off meetings to support effective CTA execution • Develop complex investigator grant estimates and contracting strategies • Develop and review confidentiality agreements, Work Orders, Change Orders, and other contracts • Create, publish, and review clinical, technical, and administrative documentation supporting business development and study initiation • Manage contract inventory, contract development, and negotiations independently • Negotiate and manage assigned commercial contracts • Maintain current contract and budget statuses to support timelines and management visibility into financials • Build relationships and communicate with management, staff, customers, and sites • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify contractual terms and associated budgets • Ensure contracts are executed and centrally stored according to corporate guidelines • Lead customer/site meeting preparation and discussions • Generate standard and ad-hoc reports and reconcile document/database discrepancies • Support audits with accurate contract and budget documentation • Train and mentor new contracts team members • Maintain confidentiality and perform other assigned duties
• Bachelor’s degree or higher required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience • Five (5) or more years of experience related to contract and budget management in the clinical research industry • Minimum one (1) year of experience developing grant budgets for clinical trials or three (3) years of similar experience • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of contract principles and procedures • Ability to comprehend, review, research complex contract documents, and provide guidance to junior analysts • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent complex projects • Strong negotiation skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; highly detail oriented • Deep knowledge of clinical trial agreements, budgets, regulatory considerations, and compliance requirements, including ICH GCP, FDA, and GDPR • Ability to interpret clinical trial protocols and translate them into budget requirements • Advanced proficiency with Excel • Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams • Intermediate proficiency with Salesforce and SharePoint • Ability to work independently, collaborate with stakeholders, and adapt to shifting priorities
