📋 Description

• Research, interpret, and provide legal guidance on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, consumer protection, AML, sanctions, financial crimes, and financial services laws and regulations • Advise business partners on privacy and data protection requirements affecting products, services, operations, and customer interactions • Support privacy policies, notices, procedures, compliance frameworks, and AML governance frameworks • Provide legal support concerning collection, use, sharing, retention, and protection of personal information • Assist with cybersecurity, data incidents, information security, online privacy, emerging technology, and AI-related legal issues • Review and draft privacy and data protection provisions in commercial agreements and support contract negotiations and RFPs • Assist with records retention and information governance matters • Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, internal reviews, remediation efforts, and related matters • Monitor emerging legal, regulatory, enforcement, technology, AI, and industry developments • Partner with stakeholders on responsible development, procurement, and use of AI-enabled tools • Support Compliance and Financial Crimes teams on AML requirements, customer identification, due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity, and sanctions screening • Prepare legal memoranda, regulatory analyses, summaries, presentations, policies, and other materials • Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance • Develop relationships across Legal, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Risk, Technology, Cybersecurity, Product, Operations, and other functions • Take on increasing responsibility as knowledge and expertise grow

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school • Active membership in good standing with a state bar • 3+ years of relevant legal experience • Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills • Interest in privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, AML, financial crimes, and financial services regulation • Ability to understand complex legal requirements and communicate them clearly and practically • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities • Collaborative approach and willingness to work across functions and subject-matter areas • Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for learning new areas of law • Sound judgment, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information • Reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection and a suitable home workspace • Fiber, cable, or DSL internet service required • CIPP/US certification is a differentiator or interest in obtaining it after joining (preferred)
