📋 Description

• Oversee and review U.S. Statutory (NAIC), U.S. GAAP, Canadian GAAP, regulatory, tax and/or Board financial reporting for investment portfolios • Prepare and review quarterly and annual statutory NAIC state financial reporting, supplements, audited financial statements and surveys • Coordinate investment presentation in quarterly financial statements • Ensure consistency across financial statements, board reports and analyst information • Research and propose disclosures and report modifications in response to new pronouncements and guidelines • Determine appropriate disclosures for new investment types • Interpret authoritative pronouncements and guidelines • Recommend accounting-system and information-presentation changes • Coordinate investment audits and explain the Company’s position to auditors • Monitor and adjust the reporting database • Assist with new process and project implementation • Ensure a proper audit trail for financial statement numbers • Analyze and interpret financial results • Prepare audit documents and respond to auditor requests • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests with interpretation, formatting and explanation of results • Reconcile and research ledger balances across multiple systems • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting • 5-7 years of financial reporting experience required • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Access and PowerPoint) • Understanding of various reporting systems (Blackline, EASY, SAP, PAM, Phoenix, Unit Value Cloud) • Thorough understanding of accounting pronouncements and their application to investment portfolios • Strong knowledge of U.S. Statutory (NAIC) and/or GAAP accounting principles • Reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection and suitable home workspace for remote work
