📋 Description

• Prepare monthly internal GAAP financial statements and management reporting packages for PacificSource and its subsidiaries • Prepare quarterly and annual NAIC statutory statements and applicable state-required financial reports • Prepare risk-based capital calculations, capital projections, and regulatory filings under supervision • Consolidate and analyze financial results across group entities • Contribute to annual external CPA statutory audits and ad-hoc regulatory financial examinations • Prepare requested audit and examination schedules and respond to auditor and examiner inquiries • Prepare, review, and post month-end journal entries, including consolidation entries • Maintain and apply specialized statutory (SAP) accounting knowledge and support the broader team • Develop reports and perform validation and user-acceptance testing for Workday reporting changes • Identify and implement reporting process-improvement and automation opportunities with finance technology • Perform other accounting tasks and projects as needed • Improve interdepartmental processes using lean methodologies, visual boards, and daily huddles • Back up other finance functions, including month-end journal entry preparation, review, and posting • Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations • Report to the Manager, Accounting & Regulatory Reporting and work under the functional direction of the VP, Controller on tax matters

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required • Insurance statutory and regulatory reporting experience strongly preferred • CPA license preferred but not required • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Ability to build, follow, and improve complex, multi-schedule workpapers accurately • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and problem-solving to complex, technical, and unfamiliar subject matter • Familiarity with statutory (SAP) accounting • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and general accounting and business practices • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software; Workday experience a plus • Ability to prioritize problems and manage multiple concurrent regulatory deadlines with limited direct supervision • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Clear written and verbal communication • Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively • Ability to stoop and bend, sit and/or stand for extended periods, perform repetitive typing/sorting/filing motions, and lightly lift and carry files and business materials • Follow PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information
