📋 Description

• Provide premium DB2 application DBA support and services to Ensono mainframe clients • Create, develop, administer, and tune client development, test, and production databases • Perform backups, restores, file extent growth monitoring, and database reorganizations • Create and maintain disaster recovery procedures • Identify, diagnose, and resolve DB2 SQL performance issues • Maintain operational excellence and production stability across online and batch environments • Plan database changes resulting from business growth and project implementation • Maintain databases to meet service levels and performance standards while minimizing outages • Maintain, update, and implement database archive and recovery processes • Test and implement database environment changes • Advise application development and production support groups on database performance • Assist with performance testing and operating system/database performance tuning • Develop, document, and maintain logical database standards and procedures • Work with vendor personnel to resolve database problems promptly • Fulfill DB2-related client requests and change orders for mainframe z/OS clients • Provide primary support for problems involving client application DB2 tablespaces • Provide key DB2 support for client migration services and new client transitions • Assist project managers with client migrations and timely resolution of technical hurdles • Execute tasks associated with client disaster recovery plans in cooperation with Disaster Recovery Services • Follow ITSM change control procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience • 10+ years of professional experience in DB2 administration and application support • Extensive experience administering and supporting databases in Mainframe DB2 • Expert performance tuning, including reducing MIPs consumption rates • Proficiency in DB2 control functions • Ability to support multiple DB2 subsystems simultaneously • Experience supporting client and internal requests for building all types of DB2 objects • Experience analyzing new DB2 versions for functionality improvements • Experience refreshing test data for whole environments • Experience supporting DB2 security requests • Experience reviewing DB2 security for potential risks • Experience reorganizing application data • Experience consulting with vendors on problems and questions • Experience calculating space for new objects and environments • Experience reviewing and tuning internal DB2 buffer pools and SQL code • Experience with disaster recovery of application objects • Experience troubleshooting and solving production database issues • Experience with CA, BMC, and IBM tools for DB2 • Experience establishing database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization policies and procedures preferred • Experience supporting multiple clients with after-hours on-call responsibilities • Self-motivated and able to work independently • Ability to multitask and work under short deadlines and high-pressure situations • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently • Ability to provide 24 x 7 x 365 support across multiple time zones and participate in on-call responsibilities
