📋 Description

• Set goals and specifications for each new page or feature with researchers and designers • Prioritize work across the website based on audience needs and usability • Set standards for page layouts, filters, charts, terminology, and shared site components • Run projects from goal and specification through design, development, QA, and launch • Gather design reviews from intended users before development • Ensure developers have the information they need and decide when work ships • Provide design feedback and answer designers' and developers' questions • Use analytics, feedback forms, and user-panel interviews to guide product decisions • Own QA by reviewing every page before launch and identifying usability and functionality issues • Coordinate with the design, web development, communications, and research teams • Own how reports and data insights are presented and integrated into the website • Report directly to the COO as an individual contributor without direct reports

🎯 Requirements

• Strong product taste and ability to identify clear versus cluttered or confusing experiences • Clear writing for one-page briefs, decision notes, and Slack messages • Comfort with data, charts, and research, including reading scatter plots and interpreting numerical context • Understanding of audiences including policy people, journalists, researchers, and people at AI labs • Experience shipping web products with designers and developers • Ability to communicate product decisions and change plans when warranted • Strong organization and ability to track decisions and follow up • Ability to travel; attendance at three annual team retreats is expected • Professional-level English proficiency • At least three hours of overlap with Pacific Time (UTC–8) • Candidates are invited to apply regardless of background, experience, or credentials • Familiarity with Epoch's research or AI more broadly is nice to have • Prior product management experience is nice to have • Front-end knowledge sufficient to discuss feasibility with developers is nice to have • Comfort with AI coding tools is nice to have
