📋 Description

• Support APM’s growth and continued development as the world’s leading human services provider • Manage legal work associated with APM’s US businesses • Review customer contracts, leases, and other agreements • Draft contracts for new business areas with Business Partners • Support the contracting lifecycle from intake to execution, including amendments, renewals, RFP/RFQ responses, and vendor onboarding • Advise operational teams on contract interpretation, risk allocation, performance obligations, and dispute mitigation • Support corporate governance activities, including entity management, annual reports, board materials, minutes, and recordkeeping • Assist with corporate registrations, licensing, certificates of authority, and contract eligibility requirements • Advise on compliance with APM policies, code of conduct, whistleblowing, and ethical policies • Monitor regulatory trends affecting clinical governance, privacy, and employment law • Escalate legal and compliance issues as necessary • Support staff training on legal, compliance, privacy, and contract-related topics • Manage pre-litigation disputes and work with outside counsel on litigation, administrative claims, and other disputes • Evaluate potential liability and recommend resolution, mitigation, or negotiated-outcome strategies • Deliver training and updates on disputes and legislative changes • Provide concise, plain-English, commercially focused legal advice • Proactively advise the business on legal risk • Improve organisational systems and processes to maximise efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity • Perform additional legal tasks and special projects assigned by the Associate General Counsel or Chief Risk and Legal Officer • Develop competency across legal issues common to APM US operating companies

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in commercial contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and review — essential • Employment or Labor law experience — essential • Property law experience — desired • Experience in a multinational corporate group or law firm — desired • Licensed in good standing in home state, with ability to gain corporate counsel status in Kentucky — essential • Knowledge of one or several areas of corporate law, including property, contracts, compliance, and employment/labor • Excellent analytical and communication skills, verbal and written • Strong coordination and time management skills • Ability to engage and consult with multiple stakeholders • Highly versed in negotiating • High degree of self-motivation • Strong influencing, negotiating, and relationship-building skills • Strong attention to detail • An international mindset
