• Analyze, design, install, maintain, and support hospital computer information systems • Support Healthy Planet in the Epic system • Serve as the IT contact and resource for assigned user departments • Evaluate departmental information needs and present potential solutions • Implement low-complexity system changes according to change-management policies • Provide ongoing support, problem diagnosis, and problem resolution for clinical information systems • Coordinate problem resolution with users, IT personnel, and vendors • Test system changes thoroughly before production and monitor implementation results • Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements or further leveraging • Analyze business requirements and design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and support software solutions • Provide software application administration, support, and troubleshooting • Coordinate hospital software and hardware, operating-system support, and analytic data retrieval services • Document tasks, software processes, and support resources • Develop and deliver user training, training materials, and project-management training • Maintain end-user system security, appropriate access, access and termination requests, and conduct regular access audits • Report security breaches to IT management • Participate in continuing education and perform additional assignments as requested • Report to the Manager/Clinical Applications Manager
• Associate degree in computer science, information technology, nursing, or related field required • Bachelor’s degree preferred • A 2:1 ratio of relevant technical experience may be substituted for each year of required education • Two years’ experience in Information Technology, clinical operations, or related field • 2–5 years of experience required; system design and programming experience preferred • No license or certification required • General software knowledge and ability to oversee projects involving hospital information systems and personal computer systems • Major systems development and implementation experience • Understanding of project management and control • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills • Ability to multitask and work independently and within a team • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications • Ability to crawl under or around furniture and equipment to access wiring and outlets • Light lifting, pushing, and pulling of 1–20 lbs occasionally; frequent movement of objects under 10 lbs • Ability to perform frequent sitting, with some walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching • Keyboard/computer use and repetitive motions may be required
