📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Travel away from home for approximately 23 days when assigned to the Catastrophe team • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license and bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Must live in the greater Eugene, Oregon area and be a resident of Oregon • Willing and able to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Comfortable working in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. • Ability to speak, read, write, and key enter in English • Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year • Ability to work in field and in-home office environments and tolerate specified environmental hazards
