American Farmland Trust is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the land that sustains us by protecting farmland, promoting sustainable farming practices, and keeping farmers on the land. AFT operates programs like the Farmland Information Center, farmland protection grants, soil health initiatives, and the U. S. Farmed certification to support farmers, influence policy, provide technical assistance, and engage the public to ensure farming remains a viable way of life.

📋 Description

• Maintain and update the NALN member database • Track NALN membership, activities, and metrics for internal and external reporting • Monitor and maintain member access to the NALN online community platform • Schedule and coordinate NALN events including roundtables, webinars, workshops, conferences, and discussion groups • Assist with planning and logistics for the Saving America’s Working Lands national conference • Provide technical support for NALN virtual events • Advance the functionality of the NALN Online Platform • Maintain platform reporting and processes, including automations, metrics, and user experience • Move contracts and invoices through AFT’s administrative processes • Assist with development and distribution of Network News • Participate in NALN team planning and preparation meetings • Collaborate with staff, interns, and consultants to complete projects successfully, on time, and within budget • Support a strong team culture of shared learning, innovation, and problem solving • Perform other assigned tasks

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite applications such as Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Willingness to learn new software and technology systems • Strong editing, writing, and proofreading skills • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, stay organized, and follow through with limited supervision • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public and staff • Organized and detail-oriented with commitment to high-quality professional work • Flexibility to work with periodic supervision as part of the NALN team • Commitment to become knowledgeable about American Farmland Trust and NALN programs and activities • Willingness to undertake limited work travel • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS), or demonstrated professional experience in office administration, operations, membership, contract or grant management, database management, or a related field • Four years of related professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree • Comfortable working in the Eastern Time Zone • Knowledge and passion for agriculture and land protection is a plus • Event organizing, planning, and implementation skills are a plus
