• Serve as the management and operations lead for a global USG-funded, multi-country health project • Manage cross-functional teams and project activities from award through close-out • Plan and direct implementation schedules, monitor budget/spending, and organize activities to meet schedule and budget constraints • Support the Project Director with efficient, compliant, timely, and results-oriented implementation • Manage and monitor systems, services, staff, and budgets with project, technical, and finance leadership teams • Provide project reports to company management and donors • Ensure procurement practices comply with USG, FHI 360, and applicable regulations • Establish and manage contractual reporting systems and ensure timely, complete reporting submissions • Oversee cost-efficient sub-awarding of multiple organizations globally • Lead project-wide human resource planning and contribute to recruitment, orientation, and supervision of staff • Engage with the client on management and operations matters • Develop structured work plans and provide matrix-based operational supervision • Troubleshoot and escalate country-level issues • Lead compliant activity reporting and support staff performance management and professional development • Serve as de-facto deputy to the Project Director • Perform other duties as assigned
• Proven leadership experience on complex, global projects • Proven management and operations leadership of complex, global multi-country health projects • Effective strategic planning, project evaluation, and project management skills • Strong business acumen, staff development, management, and reporting experience • Strong consultative and negotiation skills • Operations management, corporate policies, compliance, and procedures oversight experience • Demonstrated public relations and diplomacy skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Ability to speak the country’s language • Ability to build positive working relationships with local communities, government officials, and donor representatives • Ability to analyze and establish effective cross-project coordination, organizational procedures, and management systems • Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Business Administration, Public Health, Social Sciences, or Related Field • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant project management experience • Leadership experience on large, multi-country global projects; USG-funded project experience strongly preferred • Proficiency with applicable international development and NGO rules, regulations, and policies • English fluency required • Fluency in a second language such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian is an added benefit • Project Management certification preferred • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Skype, Zoom, or Teams • Ability to travel 10%–25% • Ability to work with a personal computer/laptop, cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment • Ability to spend long hours looking at a computer screen and perform repetitive keyboard work • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods • Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs • Successful completion of required reference, criminal record, terrorism finance, and misconduct disclosure screening checks
