• Search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property titles • Copy or summarize recorded documents affecting property title • Examine chains of title for a wide range of primarily commercial/residential title orders • Abstract and analyze leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books • Determine ownership and legal restrictions and verify property legal descriptions and record completeness across county lines • Resolve missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory title documentation • Prepare initial title commitment documentation using procedural guidelines • Prepare and review reports for accuracy • Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines • Perform other assigned duties
• High School Diploma or equivalent • 3+ years directly related experience • State license(s) if required • Detail / quality orientation • Analytical review skills • Research skills • Strong problem solving skills • Verbal and written communication skills • Customer service orientation • Standard MS skill set • Proficiency with company operating systems • Knowledge of legal terms helpful
