📋 Description

• Lead the Commodities tower and direct procure-to-pay function • Own sourcing, commodity risk management, and reliable supply of physical and financial raw materials across corporate plants • Manage commodity and ingredient spend and govern SAP contracting, Master Data, and SOX-compliant contract entry • Hedge commodity price exposure through market exchanges • Lead and develop category and SAP contracting managers • Set sourcing and coverage strategies supporting consistent supply, productivity, and growth • Lead strategic sourcing across all commodity categories and approve category strategies • Serve as commodity subject-matter authority to Procurement Leadership Team and senior stakeholders • Own commodity risk management program and execute hedging through futures, options, index-based, and forward physical contracts • Present market conditions, coverage positions, and financial-plan impacts to the Commodity Risk Subcommittee / SLT Dashboard reviews • Direct market intelligence on agricultural commodities and feedstocks • Oversee supplier negotiations, strategic agreements, RFPs, alternate supplier development, specification/formula optimization, and supplier relationship management • Ensure uninterrupted raw-material supply, business continuity, and contingency planning • Oversee qualification and development of new suppliers • Own commodity cost assumptions for annual planning and partner with Finance • Establish tower performance goals and report savings, coverage, and service results • Provide leadership for Direct P2P, ensuring accurate SAP contract entry, Master Data integrity, and SOX-compliant controls • Partner with plant inventory and fulfillment teams to ensure materials are ordered, received, and paid accurately and on time • Sponsor and support SAP ERP/Digital integration efforts • Hire, develop, and lead five category and SAP contracting managers • Lead or sponsor cross-functional special projects for the Procurement Leadership Team • Comply with company policies and perform other integral duties

🎯 Requirements

• Ten to fifteen or more years of progressive procurement experience, with significant time in direct materials and commodity procurement • Proven people leadership, including building, leading, and developing a team of category managers or sourcing professionals • Deep expertise in commodity risk management and price hedging, including futures, options, and index-based or forward physical contracting • Track record developing and executing category strategies across agricultural and/or energy commodities • Experience managing major supplier relationships and leading complex negotiations • Demonstrated savings, total-cost-of-ownership reduction, and value creation • Experience owning commodity cost assumptions and inflation/deflation outlooks within an annual operating and financial planning cycle • Working knowledge of direct Procure-to-Pay operations and governance, including SAP contracting, Master Data, and SOX-compliant controls • Consumer packaged goods experience; food and beverage or bakery sector strongly preferred • Ability to influence executive leaders and cross-functional partners across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Quality, R&D, and Brand • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Advanced degree is preferred
