📋 Description

• Drive and own the regulatory compliance aspects of Flywire’s business in South Africa • Localise and administer an AML/CTF compliance programme, including policies, procedures and the Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP) • Monitor South African regulatory developments relating to the NPS Act, consumer protection, FICA and fintech laws • Review the regulatory environment for Flywire’s services and determine licensing or exemption requirements, including ADLA or FSP registration • Manage relationships with the FIC, SARB (Prudential Authority and FinSurv), FSCA and law enforcement where required • Manage regulatory reporting, including STRs, CTRs and TPRs to the FIC • Support bank and payment partner management and explain Flywire’s Legal, Compliance and Regulatory framework • Assist with analysis and introduction of new products and services in South Africa • Assist Global AML/CTF compliance operations, including sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud monitoring and KYC/CDD • Coordinate presentations and reporting to management, regulators and Financial Institution partners • Develop internal communications and South Africa-specific compliance training materials • Conduct regulatory reviews and due diligence on potential business acquisition targets • Support global artificial intelligence development related to AML/CTF and sanctions regulations

🎯 Requirements

• Seven or more years of relevant experience in the South African financial services sector, with a university degree, or ten or more years of relevant experience in place of a degree • Experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Corporate and Risk Governance, Compliance, Audit or Regulatory Management • Deep familiarity with FICA (Financial Intelligence Centre Act) and the South African National Payment System (NPS) • Ability to lead meetings and deliver presentations to executive leadership and regulatory bodies • Ability to pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced fintech environment • Experience with regulations and guidelines related to payment networks, the digital payments industry and emerging payment system supervision in South Africa • Experience in analytics and a data-driven mindset • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Must be based in South Africa and hold the right to work there
