📋 Description

• Take end-to-end ownership of the data lifecycle, including pipeline orchestration, dbt, warehouse infrastructure, and foundational models. • Define data quality, freshness, accessibility SLAs and establish proactive observability and data contracts. • Translate business needs into technical roadmaps and scalable architectural solutions. • Direct dimensional modeling, star schema design, semantic layers, and foundational data models. • Partner strategically with Analytics & Data Science on data architecture and standards. • Maintain a documented boundary between core product systems and analytics engineering. • Mentor and scale a distributed domestic and offshore data engineering team. • Drive technical excellence through design reviews, RFCs, code audits, and architectural discipline. • Conduct roadmap reviews and align platform capacity with business priorities. • Direct data infrastructure for revenue cycle management, billing, member lifecycle, and financial reporting. • Lead HIPAA compliance efforts, including PHI access controls, deidentification, and audit readiness. • Foster AI-native engineering practices and establish responsible AI governance and safety guardrails. • Design the context layer for AI-powered analytics tools.

🎯 Requirements

• Over a decade of expertise in data engineering or platform domains. • At least 4 years leading and scaling high-performing teams. • Hands-on mastery of Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. • Experience with Dagster or Airflow. • Expert-level dbt proficiency, including large-scale architecture and semantic layer implementation. • Experience integrating dbt with BI tools such as Looker or Omni. • Advanced dimensional modeling at scale. • Expert SQL and strong Python engineering skills. • Experience architecting CI/CD pipelines and automated quality testing in dbt ecosystems. • Ability to influence without authority and drive adoption of standards and tooling. • Experience partnering strategically with Analytics and Data Science teams. • Experience managing distributed domestic and offshore engineering talent. • Professional fluency in HIPAA regulations and experience with sensitive healthcare data, including claims, eligibility, and clinical records. • Experience with Cursor or Claude Code in production workflows.
