📋 Description

• Review client documentation, including drawings, studies, and maintenance logs, before and during inspections • Perform visual inspections of heating, cooling, ventilation, distribution, fire protection, controls, plumbing, and other building systems • Review conformance with client standards and compliance with accessibility, fire and life safety, code, energy, and sustainability requirements • Collaborate with client facilities management staff to understand facility operations, investments, and functional needs • Use computer tablets, built-in cameras, and mobile collection software to document system findings and justify physical-condition determinations • Develop facility replacement and corrective-measure cost estimates using existing data libraries and researching vendor costs when needed • Document findings in Gordian’s asset management and capital planning software with assessment team members • Perform individual quality assurance to ensure findings are complete, accurate, and aligned with project scope • Provide clarification and guidance to clients regarding assessment findings

🎯 Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Facility/Construction management degree or a combination of equivalent experience • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility/property management • Knowledge with researching and applying relevant building codes and standards for existing buildings • Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or other construction cost data sets • Experience evaluating facility/system conditions and conducting lifecycle analysis to identify deficiencies with corrective cost estimates • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices, including Microsoft Office products (Teams, Word, Excel) and various web browsers • Clear written and verbal communications • Ability to maintain work focus on the most critical tasks to drive results • Accuracy and attention to detail • Technical certifications, professional registrations, and government clearance a plus • Multi-discipline knowledge including structural, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), electrical and/or site utilities a plus • Physical ability to walk and inspect large complexes and climb ladders and stairs • Ability to travel 40% to 50% nationally and occasionally internationally, for up to 2 weeks at a time
