📋 Description

• Support the Chair in all activities to ensure effective leadership of the Committee • Facilitate decision-making processes and guide Freeda’s strategic direction and effective governance • Fulfil the Chair’s role in the Chair’s absence • Support coordination of Committee meetings, normally six per year • Work with the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer to monitor timely implementation of agreed actions by the CEO and Committee members • Ensure close Committee oversight of Freeda’s financial sustainability • Support governance oversight and compliance with legal and statutory requirements under the Jersey Charities Commission, Jersey Care Commission and Freeda’s Constitution • Work with the Chair, CEO and Committee members on the annual strategic plan, organisational goals and annual Freeda report • Ensure Freeda’s activities align with its mission and values • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Chair and CEO • Support the Chair in preparing and submitting the annual Charity report to the Charity Commissioner • In the absence of the Chair, act as a spokesperson for Freeda with partners, funders and the community

🎯 Requirements

• Previous leadership/management roles desirable • Some governance, management and strategic oversight experience • Awareness of fundraising and partnership building in the Jersey context • Previous trustee or committee experience • Understanding of the cause and effect of violence and abuse against women and girls • Sound understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion • Sound knowledge of governance and financial management • Knowledge of the Jersey Care Commission and/or Social Services policies an advantage • Commitment to upholding Freeda’s mission and values • Leadership, management, coordination and strategic thinking skills • Ability to analyse, problem solve and lead others • Good independent judgement
