📋 Description

• Lead the annual operational and capital budget process • Provide budget-to-actual performance results to schools, department leads, leadership and the Board of Directors • Manage budgets for every revenue source received or allocated to the Network • Incorporate revenue budgets into daily organizational operations and provide leadership with immediate feedback on remaining balances • Supervise and guide the Grants Financial Compliance Manager in developing and managing grant budgets • Prepare budget presentations and train school and department leads to understand and use mission-aligned budgets • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reports by location/entity and overall • Assist the CFO with internal and external reports covering budget results, comparisons and multi-year projections • Support authorizer/district reporting, financing agreements and Board of Directors reports • Stay abreast of finance technology advancements • Implement and leverage finance software to improve efficiency and accuracy • Abide by state and federal mandates regarding reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect • Perform other duties assigned within the position’s scope

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree • Strong preference for candidates with MBA • At least five years of significant work experience with organizations as a Budget Director, Director of Finance, Grant Manager or equivalent; non-profit or education organization experience strongly preferred • Proven success running a high performing Finance team • Comprehensive understanding of fund-based budget modeling in Excel • Experience utilizing budget management systems, including import/export experience • Comprehensive understanding of developing financial models for sustainability and efficiency • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Extreme flexibility, strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit • Ability to work effectively in a fluid environment with board members, school personnel and external reports • Ability to deal fairly and equitably with all persons • Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate correspondence, reports and written materials • Ability to organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment • Ability to maintain complex and confidential records and files
