📋 Description

• Verify facts of loss and pertinent information to analyze and confirm coverage • Handle the entire claim adjustment, including reviewing loss facts, analyzing insurance policy terms, making coverage recommendations, and issuing payments within applicable authority levels • Contact insureds to schedule timely damaged-property inspections • Keep insureds informed throughout claim investigation and resolution • Determine the investigation method and extent for each claim • Assign outside experts or investigators when appropriate • Review investigative and claim materials to determine facts of loss • Document all claim actions and communications in claim files • Check and respond to emails, messages, calls, and questions daily and in a timely manner • Establish and monitor ultimate reserves, adjusting them after exposure-changing events • Communicate with insureds, public adjusters, attorneys, contractors, and other involved parties to obtain information, provide updates, and explain settlements or claim disposition • Submit reserve and payment approval requests • Identify claims requiring Reservation of Rights or denial, draft coverage correspondence, and refer for management approval • Identify claims suited for DFS Mediation or appraisal and demand the appropriate ADR option • Attend assigned mediations and use technical knowledge to facilitate negotiations • Apply advanced negotiation skills to resolve disputed claims directly • Coordinate the appraisal process and maintain communication toward a timely binding award

🎯 Requirements

• Proficient in Xactimate • Attention to detail • Ability to multi-task • Solid written and verbal communication skills • Effective oral, written, organizational, and analytical skills • Strong computer skills and ability to work effectively under stress • Interpersonal skills to develop relationships with insureds, public adjusters, opposing counsel, defense counsel, vendors, and contractors • Maintain Florida 520 License • Obtain Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia licenses if not currently possessed • Minimum 5 years’ experience and/or training in P & C Insurance, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to regularly use computers and certain software programs • Strong computer and data entry skills
